Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant Named Honorary Chairman of Sportsmen Organized for Law Enforcement

WEST POINT, MS – Governor Phil Bryant of the State of Mississippi has been named the Honorary Chairman of Sportsmen Organized for Law Enforcement (S.O.L.E.), an initiative spearheaded by Mossy Oak®. In his role, Governor Bryant will advocate for S.O.L.E. and invite hunters and anglers nationwide to become involved in the movement. The goal of Sportsmen Organized for Law Enforcement is to raise awareness and funds that will be divided equally among three existing 501(c)(3) organizations that already know where help is needed. Those organizations are Below 100Spirit of Blue Foundation and Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.).

“As a former law enforcement officer, I am delighted to serve as honorary chairman of Sportsmen Organized for Law Enforcement,” said Governor Bryant. “Our men and women who wear the badge safeguard our communities, often at great risk to themselves, and they deserve nothing less than our complete support. I am grateful to Mossy Oak and everyone involved in making S.O.L.E. a reality.”

Before starting his political career in the Mississippi State Legislature, Governor Bryant studied Criminal Justice and worked as a deputy county sheriff. Governor Bryant then went on to serve as the State Auditor, Lt. Governor and then was elected Governor in 2011 and is currently serving his second term. An avid outdoorsman himself, Governor Bryant has demonstrated his commitment and dedication to promoting and protecting the rights of hunters and anglers in the Magnolia State and currently serves as the co-chair of the national Governor’s Sportsmen Caucus.
