Sitka Gear Challenges Hunters to Diverge More than $40,000 in prizes for images that show hunting differently

Bozeman, MT – For the past four years, SITKA Gear—the industry leader in performance hunting gear—has challenged hunters to see things differently through the Diverge Photo Contest. The fifth annual Diverge Photo Contest is underway, with the purpose of bringing hunters together to continue to shape the way hunting is portrayed in images.

The SITKA Team encourages hunters to share the real things they have seen in the field: the grit, the beauty, the truth and raw emotion that lies at the heart of hunting. It’s a celebration of all who do things differently—those who see things differently—and those who refuse to be conformed to the limited definitions of what it means to be a hunter.

It’s only called a contest because the SITKA Team will be giving away $40,000 in gear and other prizes to the 300 photographers who surprise and inspire them most.

“To Diverge doesn’t require hunting uncommon species in uncommon places. It just takes seeing the hunt in uncommon ways, and then honing your skills to be able to share that vision with others,” said SITKA Founder Jonathan Hart.

The Diverge Photo Contest is now open at, and can be entered by using the #Diverge5 hashtag on Instagram. Prizes include full SITKA systems, GoPro cameras, and all-expenses-paid trips with VIP access to the annual SITKA Gear Rendezvous in Bozeman, Montana.

Entry Period

Fans can submit their photos at or on Instagram by posting a new image with #Diverge5 in the caption, not in a comment. Throughout the contest, the SITKA Team will award special edition caps for remarkable entries. Voting on the finalists will be open to Sitka’s Facebook fans, and the top vote getter in each category will be crowned a Grand Prize Winner of the fifth annual Diverge Photo Contest.
